WSU Back-to-School Patrols Begin Aug. 14

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Washington State Patrol will conduct emphasis patrols from Aug. 14-16 in Grant and Kittitas counties to address traffic safety concerns as students return to WSU in Pullman.

District 6 troopers will focus on speeding, distracted driving, and impaired driving violations along State Route 26, I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass, and through Ellensburg and Grant County. The WSP noted 12 fatal collisions in District 6 so far in 2026, stating many are preventable. Troopers will enforce posted speed limits and have zero tolerance for impaired driving.

Motorists traveling to WSU can expect increased WSP presence during the patrol period. The WSP's goal is to ensure safe arrivals at school.
